Lise del Medico
Lise del Medico

Lise Del Medico is a self-taught person who has been modelling clay and making terracotta statues for seven years now.

Throughout the years, the people she has met and the numerous exhibitions she has taken part in, have all nourished her art with emotion (and life is but emotion) ;

it is emotion, this raw but ever present material, which drives both her and her art and gives life to the characters she models.

Very simply but always sincerely, Lise Del Medico, through her art and work, has been in quest of Unity.

Clay modelling is the alchemical artistic synthesis of the four elements (clay structures, water shapes, air dries and fire strengthen). It enables one to blur the borders of death and life and to reach motion (and by doing so, emotion) through motionless.

It gives one the ability to reach for another kind of motion; a timeless one which deep from one’s inner self, bonds with the infinite beauty of the world.

It’s been said many times that Lise Del Medico’s terracotta statues have a soothing effect on the beholder… Meditative, contemplative and calm, those statues bring people to think about universality.

Thriving on the countless and very touching displays of consideration from people touched and moved by her art, Lise Del Medico is constantly changing and evolving, both giver and receiver, tuned in to the secret melody of the world.

She exposes every year at the “Salon des Artistes Français” at the Grand Palais in Paris.

In 2008 she got the Bronze Medal for sculpture at the prestigious “Salon des Artistes Français”.

The most famous French artists had been honoured during this annual exhibition, like Bonnard, Vuillard, Delacroix, Monet, Rodin and many others.
